Nan Clinton is a lifelong Joliet, Illinois resident. She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in education as a Montessori teacher, high school teacher, and school administrator. Nan has many stories to tell that are playful, hilarious, and entertaining. Along with sharing her whimsical side and life experiences, Nan's stories also can be both poignant and thought-provoking. Nan believes that storytelling is the bond that reconnect--stories convey the humanness in all of us.
Amy Curtis was an early participant in the Inspired! live lit storytelling classes and told her first story in 2019. She believes stories express our common humanity and connect us to one another. Amy paints, feeds her backyard birds, is curious about almost everything and enjoys a good book and a good cup coffee above most all other things.
She is a local real estate agent and a Lockport resident.
Barbara Eberhard is the producer and host of STORIES R Us. She taugh at the University of St. Francis and District 86 and was staff photographer at the Philip Lynch Theatre for over 30 years She was the director of the children’s theatre Eberhard and Friends. Barbara is a member of artitude and Chicago

Meredith is a former reporter and public relations professional, now working in senior living. She’s well aware that truth is stranger than fiction, and that every person has a story if we will listen and wait for them to tell it. Meredith lives in Lockport with her husband, Don, and cat, Sitka. She treasures the rich history of Lockport which makes this an exciting place to live. It’s a privilege to carry forth the well-known and untold stories here.
Mary Parkhurst claims to be a former teacher, retired dentist
forever grandmother and have had a long time love of Stories.
I have been a fan of this group for many years, touched by the many stories of others’ lives. I finally decided to jump in and share some of mine, a scary move but I have been supported every step of the way.
Karen Scott moved to Lockport in 2023 to be close to her son, his wife, and 3 grandchildren. She previously lived in Maryland for almost 30 years, where she commuted into Washington DC to work for the federal government. She’s grateful to Stories R Us for making her feel at home in a new community.
Coming to us from her home in Shorewood, and formerly from Lockport, Katie Ward is retired from any number of things like teaching deaf and hard of hearing students, and from children's choreography for the Joliet Ballet Society as well as local stage productions. She seems also to have retired from cooking even though she has a large family that includes four children and thirteen grands.
About six years ago she began transforming her skills from non-verbal communication to storytelling, and considers herself very much a work in progress along those lines.
